4 Hours in Barcelona

16:06
First of all I just want to say, Barcelona is such a beautiful city full of history and Spanish culture. However, IT WAS SO HOT THAT I COULD ONLY STAND BEING THERE 4 HOURS. Literally I wish I could of been there longer, but oh my god I was sweating in places I didn’t know I could sweat. If you are going to Spain and want to visit this gorgeous city, here’s my guide how to spend 4 hours:

Spoiler: we stopped a lot for water, snacks and to desweat our faces with a packet of Primark tissues.

My boyfriend and I were staying in the little seaside town of Calella, which has a direct train to Barcelona which takes about an houfr and goes along the coastline. We stupidly only got a return which cost €10 but, a travel card cost €35 called T-10. We should have got the T-10 but we thought it would be okay to walk around. As previously mentioned, it was not. Next time I would 100% buy the travel card so I could explore.

We got off at the Arc de Triomf station which is about a 2 minute walk away from the Arc. The arc itself was absolutely breathtaking. You can see from the pictures how intricate all the detailing is and how vibrant the colour of the brick is. If you are like me and are unsure of what to go see in Barcelona, I would recommend going to the Arc de Triomf and even just wandering round the streets.

We decided then to walk around the Gothic Quarter, walked past the Picasso museum which was heaving. If it wasn’t so hot, or so busy I would have definitely gone in. Even though we didn't go in, each street had so much character and amazing architecture that was very gram-worthy. Shoutout to my boyfriend for not throwing my phone on the floor as I stopped for pictures pretty much every 5 seconds. Oops.

If you are looking for things to do in Barcelona other than sight-seeing, we walked to the Aquarium which was really cute, lots to look at and super interactive. So a great place for families! Next to the Aquarium was a shopping centre which had loads of places to shop and get some bargains. I really wanted to go to the Primark but, it was over an hour walks away so we decided against it. Safe to say I was sad.

Hope you have enjoyed this post, if you have any questions feel free to leave then in the comments! x
