London Fashion Weekend

Today I went to London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House, and it was amazing. When I arrived, we had to wait in the rain until we were let in at 10:00. The whole place was full with excitement as we walked to the Catwalk tent to see the first Trend show.

I wore platform chelsea boots from Bank £10, white t-shirt dress from Dorothy Perkins, beige coat from Primark, and scarf from Primark £3.

We walked into the tent, sat down and waited for the show to begin. The trends included floral patterns, shimmer & shine, monochrome and 70s style clothing.

In the finale, each model in my opinion, wore the best outfit of each trend during the show. The floral patterns were bright and colourful, and will be great for this summer. Although, I may associate shimmer and sparkle with winter, I was amazed to see how that type of material would fit summer clothes. As always, the trend monochrome never fails to impress me. To me, monochrome is one of those trends that will never die. Black and white together is a flawless combination, as they go so well together. When I first heard that 70s was coming back I was excited, I love fringing and suede. But, then I remember flares... surprisingly I was impressed by my lack of dislike of the flares shown during the Catwalk. I actually really like them!

After the Catwalk, my friends and I walked around Somerset House basking in all the fashion around us. One of the many stairwells was covered in umbrellas hanging down from the ceiling, the decorations made the whole building more visually interesting.
